Here are a few shots from our week away in Gogledd Cymru. We stayed on a Haven holiday park in Portmadog. Here's J inside our caravan.
wales008_1632.jpg

And heres what it looked like inside.
wales003_1632.jpg

More of J messing about around the caravan. Yes, that is a pink elephant, this was one of the characters in the Haven holiday park kids' shows, "Anxious the Elephant". I tried to foist a "Rory the Tiger" soft buddy onto J but he was adamant he wanted the girly pink elephant in a dress instead. Am I worried? Not yet.

While in Wales, we visited Portmeirion, the beautiful Italiante village built by Sir Clough Williams Ellis in Penryhdeudreath. A working hotel now and extremely beautiful place to visit, Portmeirion is probably best known outside of architectural circles for being the location for the cult 60's TV epic "The Prisoner".
wales020_1632.jpg

Being a huge cult TV fan, I've personally visited Portmeirion a few times, but it was the first time for Lu and J. Here's me outside Number 6's residence, now the "Prisoner" shop in the village.
wales025_1632.jpg

And here's Lu, now forever a prisoner of the super-secret, super-science retirement home for spies known only as "The Village", until she shares with us the secret of "why she resigned"!!!.
wales018_1632.jpg

Cant imagine what super-secret spy information they dont want J to impart, but it looks as though he's been incarcerated in the Village as well.
wales019_1632.jpg

OK, enough corny captions. Here are some more pics.
wales001_1632.jpg

The guys at the wishing well, in Portmeirion.
wales021_1632.jpg

J on the beach at Portmeirion. I also have a picture of this with the "Rover" weather balloon bouncing up ready to envelop J for attempting to escape, email me if you want it.
wales022_1632.jpg

A great pic of Lu at Portmeirion, moody eh?
wales023_1632.jpg

This picture needs some explanation. This is J pretending to be a statue in an alcove, being as still as he can be.
wales024_1632.jpg

As well as Portmeirion, we also visited the magnificent Caernafon Castle.
wales029_1632.jpg

This really is a magnificent castle, probably the best I've ever been to, and I've been to Lincoln Castle and Dover Castle. A word of advice though if you've never been, its no place for little kids, not for kids as old as J anyway. It really is full of vertigo-inducing drops and really steep steps, and there are a lot of high parapets with very little fall protection. So leave the toddlers at home if you ever visit.
wales014_1632.jpg

More Caernafon Castle.
wales011_1632.jpg

Lu on one of the high parapets.
wales017_1632.jpg

More Caernafon Castle.
wales016_1632.jpg

More Caernafon Castle.
wales015_1632.jpg

This is Lu in the deepest darkest dungeon at Caernafon Castle. Unfortunately, she found her way out though.
wales013_1632.jpg

Which is more than I did, because I'm still trapped down here, "help".
wales012_1632.jpg

Me at Caernafon Castle.
wales002_1632.jpg

Heres J in Caernafon with the castle in the background.
wales009_1632.jpg

We also went on the Welsh Highland Railway from Portmadog to Blaneau Ffestiniog and back. Here we are on the platform at Portmadog.
wales026_1632.jpg

And here's J at Ffestiniog.
wales027_1632.jpg

And on the way back to Portmadog. It really is breathtaking scenery on this railway, travelling through the mountains and the Snowdonia National Park.
wales028_1632.jpg

And here's the train we went on.
wales010_1632.jpg

I'll finish with two shots of what J got up to to impress the girls at the Haven evening show and disco. Now I never knew J could breakdance or bodypop, but he just got down on the floor and started popping it.
wales004_1632.jpg

This was, in fact, completely hilarious. J was absolutely pulling off breakdancing moves. At one point he spun around on his back with his legs pulled up in a true proper breaking stylee. The boy has it.
wales005_1632.jpg

Its goodbye from Wales. We had a great time.
