We had a week off last week and escaped the traffic-jam mayhem of Royal Ascot at York by heading down to the in-laws'
in Essex, John and Jackie. Click on picture to enlarge.

On Tuesday of that week, John, Looby and me went across to France on what can only be described as a "booze cruise",
i believe the term is. J stayed in Southend with his Grandma for that day as it would have been a long day travelling
for him all that way. This is the three of us about to embark, set against the white cliffs of Dover. Click on picture to enlarge.

Once safely arrived a francais, we wasted no time in heading for the HALF-UK-PRICE booze, at the brilliant Cite Europe
shopping emporium in Calais.

As you can see here, we needed so much booze that Looby had to employ a shopping list.

I don't know how the car stayed intact and in one piece with all that liquor in the boot. And I sure as heck dont
know how we got back into the country.

While in Essex we also went to see Great Grandma in Colchester. Click on picture to enlarge.

We also went to Priory Park, in Southend...
