Myself and J are taking off to London to see the Doctor Who exhibition at Earls Court. The day started out at York Railway Station. Click on picture

We got the train down to Kings Cross. Click on picture to enlarge. |

This was a picture of me J took on the train. It's not very good. Click

Right, here we are in London. J loved the tube. Click on picture to enlarge. |

Here follows a few shots of J with London landmarks. Click on picture to enlarge. |

Here's J with his Big Ben hat on. Click on picture to enlarge. |

More landmark shots. This is J in Trafalgar Square with the lions. Click on picture to

Here we are arriving at the Earls Court exhibition centre. Click on picture to enlarge. |
Inside the exhibition. And here's J with the one and only true Doctor. Nothing the new series will
ever produce will be one tenth of the quality as the classic series from 1970 through 1973. In my opinion. Click on picture

Here's J with the Doctor (well the current one anyway) and the TARDIS. David Tennant's face was
quite cleverly projected onto a blank mannikin head so he could rattle off some of the crap he does in the new series, accompanied by the (now) rather
wearing facial expressions and mannerisms he brings to the role. Click on picture to enlarge.

Moving on through the exhibition in order, next up was the magnificent Face of Boe. Click on picture

Here's me with the Face of Boe... Click on picture to enlarge. |

...and J. Click on picture

A terrifying Slitheen. Click on picture

J with the Sycorax Leader. Click on picture to enlarge. |

Something's Coming... Click on picture

The fearsome Empress of the Racnoss. Click on picture to enlarge. |
This was the actual animatronic rig that moved up and down from the episode. All
the kids at the exhibition loved this one. Click on picture
to enlarge.
And here's an Ood. Click on picture to enlarge. |
This was definitely a highlight, the brilliant K9. He had a button next to
his pedestal which animated him. His eyes lit up, his head would raise and he would say phrases. Click on picture
to enlarge.
This part of the exhibition showed how the monsters were made. This exhibit
J is looking at here showed how animatronic levers changed the expressions on an Ood's face. Click on picture to enlarge.
Here's definitely one of the best monsters there has ever been on any series
of Doctor Who, the Weeping Angels. Click on picture
to enlarge.
There were also displays of some of the costumes and outfits worn in the episodes. Click on picture to enlarge. |
Here's the costume worn by Kylie Minogue in the Christmas special. Click on picture
to enlarge. |
Then we moved into the Cyber Zone. Click on picture to enlarge. |
These Cybermen were animatronic also and moved around and shouted DELETE a lot. Click on picture
to enlarge. |
There was some quite good A/V in the Cyber Zone. There was a projector fixed to the
ceiling and it projected down the Age of Steel episode onto a projection background on the floor. All the kids sat down and watched it. Click on picture to enlarge.
And here's the fearsome Cyber Leader. Click on picture

DELETE!!!. Click on picture to enlarge. |
And then it was on to the Dalek Zone. This was animated as well, the Dalek
exhibits moved around on tracks and screamed EXTERMINATE and terrified the kids. J actually ran out of the Dalek Zone, he
didn't like it. Click on picture
to enlarge.

This is the Dalek Emperor exhibit. Click on picture to enlarge. |
OK that was the exhibition. It's back onto the tube. I took J around my
old stomping ground, the Tottenham Court Road. Click on picture
to enlarge.
On the way back to Kings Cross we stopped off at Green Park and went to see Buck Pal. Click on picture to enlarge. |
This isn't a great picture but it's the only one of both of us together from the day. Signing off
from London. Click on picture
